Welcome to my L I S H link * HEALTH*
Health is so important. Growing up a dancer I once had a jaded view of what health looked like. I did not grow up having anyone teach me about healthy eating options and encouraging me to find balance in my food. I used fitness as a way to manage childhood stress and had an eating disorder. I think for me at the time it was more about control than anything. My life was a bit out of control and in the crazy childhood that was mine this was my way of controlling something. I did not eat and I exercised ALL day. My sister still makes fun of me and how I always controlled the TV and she would dread my summer long all day exercising in the living room. I have come to a place now of wanting to be healthy. I have learned to enjoy food and exercise and the ability to feel strong. My diet has always lacked and I have been lucky that although I do not watch what I eat all that much that I have been able to maintain a healthy weight give or take 10 to 15 pounds I have at times wished to take off. Now as a mom and continuing my fitness journey through having my kids I see fitness and health in a whole new light. I see the need for fitness and healthy choices in life for quality of life for my family. I want to be strong not skinny. I want to feel good for me so I am more productive for myself and my family. I want to gain energy during these times of my life when I do not get much sleep. I want to be an example to my kids who's little eyes are always watching. I do not think that it needs to be a certain weight or size. I think it needs to be a lifestyle that makes you be a better version of you. I have found programs that work for me as a busy mom and have been so overwhelmed by what incorporating a more all natural lifestyle looks like for myself and my family. Taking ownership of my health and the health of my family has been so empowering especially in this time when health care costs and structure in the county are scary. We need to be our own advocates in life with everything and health as a whole is so important. It really effects us more than we know. Not only physically but mentally. I hope my plan will inspire you and help guide you to explore some options that maybe you did not once know about or were scared to venture in to check the pages on the main page of the blog for my LISH wellness links. Also follow me on Instagram @annesch and Facebook Anne Schlenbaker. I look forward to hearing from you too as I love how these social media outlets allow the opportunity to connect and share and gain knowledge from other people and how it opens up our options and ability to problem solve during our life journey. I welcome you and thank you for being here! 😊 Stay tuned...
